Randy Stiles

Randolph F. Stiles

RANDOLPH F STILES earned his undergraduate and law degree from University of South Dakota. Randy is a member of the South Dakota Bar Association and the Iowa Bar Association and is admitted to the US District Court for the District of South Dakota.

Randy is engaged in general practice law with primary focus on criminal law, estates and estate planning.

He is currently a child support referee providing services to the First Judicial Circuit, which covers most of southeastern South Dakota.


Douglas N. Papendick

DOUGLAS N. PAPENDICK is a South Dakota native who earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Dakota (1984).  Doug is a member of the South Dakota Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the State of South Dakota and the US District Court for the District of South Dakota.

Doug’s practice focuses on criminal law.  He is now primarily a criminal defense attorney, but has previously been Davison County State’s Attorney, Hanson County Deputy State’s Attorney, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Mitchell and Tribal Judge for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.  He currently serves as an Appellate Justice for the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe.  He has handled well over 50 jury trials including murder cases.  He has also argued several cases before the South Dakota Supreme Court.

Doug is actively involved in the Mitchell Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge in Mitchell as well as in the Grand Lodge of Masons of South Dakota.  He has belonged to both since the mid-1980’s.  He has served in various capacities in both organizations as well as being a Past President of the Mitchell Lions Club and a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge.  He currently serves as a Trustee for the Grand Lodge of South Dakota.


Patrick W. Kiner

PATRICK W. KINER is a South Dakota native. Born in Mitchell, South Dakota.  Graduated with honors from Mitchell Senior High School and with honors from the University of South Dakota in 1975 and from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1978.  Patrick has been a member of the South Dakota Bar Association since May of 1978.  Patrick is admitted to practice law in South Dakota and is also admitted to the US District Court for the District of South Dakota.

Patrick’s practice areas are focused in the areas of domestic relations, contract, collections, commercial litigation, real estate and the general practice of law.

Prior Accomplishments:

  • 1978 – 2006:  General Practice of Law
  • 1981 – 1985:  Davison County States Attorney:  Elected in November 1980.
  • 1986 to 2006:​Part-time Law Trained Magistrate Judge; First Judicial Circuit and General Practice of Law.
  • 2006 to 2013:​Full-time Law Trained Magistrate Judge; First Judicial Circuit
  • 2013 to present:  General Practice of Law; Stiles, Papendick, & Kiner


Reid P. Kiner

REID P. KINER is a South Dakota native who earned an undergraduate and law degree from the University of South Dakota (2022). Reid is a member of the South Dakota Bar Association.

Reid also graduated with a degree in Human Resources before moving on to the study of law. Reid is a second-generation attorney following in his father’s foot steps.
